Steel City Academy is a free, single site, open-enrollment, public charter school, located in Gary Indiana, for students in Kindergarten-12th grade. We are currently accepting applications for new K-12th grade Indiana residents to begin fall 2025. Fill out the new student enrollment form below or check out the additional information on the enrollment process. Current students will be notified when the 2025-2026 Intent to Reenroll form is open.

Your child's application process starts by completing and submitting our online application. The online application must be completed before you continue in the application process.
Once you have submitted your online application, a member of our enrollment team will reach out to invite you to our Main Office to complete the paper application.
After completion of the paper application, the enrollment team will also make copies of all required documents. Please note: your application can not be reviewed until all necessary documents are received.

Copy of Parent/Guardian Identification
Utility bill, lease, or vehicle registrations for proof of current address
The school team will review your application once all required documents and records have been received and make a decision.
