Steel City Academy has been fortunate enough to participate in the USDA's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, providing our K-6 students with a twice weekly fresh fruit and vegetable! Today our students got to enjoy some delicious Mexican Guava! 😋💛

Yesterday our Steel City Community celebrated the 100th Day of School 💯💯💯 This important school year milestone allows us to participate in 100 activities, celebrate the community we have built thus far AND dress up in our favorite 100 outfits! 🤩 Our staff and students showed up and showed out with their creative 100 shirts and 100 year old outfits! Grateful for a community that intentionally chooses JOY 💙 #SchoolBuiltOnCoreValues

Recently, our sixth graders experienced and participated in the Purdue Nutrition Education Program. The Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program (NEP) works to improve the nutrition and health of audiences in Indiana. Students learned about: Nutrition, Food safety, Food security (hunger), Physical activity, and Food resource management (stretching food dollars). The Nutrition Education Program has existed in Indiana since 1994 as a part of Purdue Extension and funded by multiple federal funding streams. We are thrilled our sixth graders received this experience and we look forward to future years in partnership with Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program. #WeAreSteelCityStrong

We're wrapping up the year with our December Attendance incentive for ALL Steel City students 🔥 In order to be eligible, K-12 students need to have perfect attendance from December 4th-December 15th, meaning no absences (whether excused or unexcused), no tardiness, and no early dismissals.
