Our Steel City National Honor Society has been hard at work volunteering to make a positive community impact 🔥
The National Honor Society volunteered for three hours at the Northwest Indiana Food Bank, where they assembled over 100 boxes to support hunger relief programs that supply meals to individuals of all ages in the Northwest Indiana area. This month they also joined forces in a highway cleanup initiative along our Adopt-A-Highway on County Line Road and US 12. We extend our gratitude to Coach Kelly and the members of the Recruiting and Retention Battalion for their invaluable help and support to make this possible! And thank you to Mrs. Morris for all of her hard work as our National Honor Society Sponsor! 💙 #WeAreSteelCityStrong
When people ask what makes Steel City unique, we always answer our CORE VALUES! As an organization our values are not painted on the wall or thrown on a shirt- they are lived in interactions between our community, used to intentionally create rituals & traditions and used to celebrate staff members and students who go above and beyond in their embodiment! #SchoolBuiltOnCoreValues 💙
Every month our Senior Leadership Team selects and recognizes a staff member who is the TRUE embodiment of a core value in their daily actions and interactions! 🔥 Our core value award winners are honored in front of our staff and gifted our Core Value swag! #ShowYourValues

At a time when many people are choosing to leave the education profession and less are entering the field, it is critical that we take the time and space to value our educators who CHOOSE to serve, to teach and to make a positive impact on the lives of our young people - in compensation, recognition, verbal praise, time and more!
At Steel City we work to intentionally do just that! This week we honored our October Teacher and Staff Members of the Month. These staff members were selected for embodying our core values, exceeding our staff attendance goals, completing action steps and more!🔥💙
Congratulations to Mrs. Black(Elementary Teacher of the Month), Mrs. Haddad (MS/HS Teacher of the Month) and Mrs. Williams (Staff Member of the Month!) Our Kindergarteners had an incredible time attending the Deeply Rooted Dance Theater performance at the historic Auditorium Theatre, downtown Chicago last Friday 💃🏻 The Auditorium Theatre was built in 1889 and it is the second largest theater in Chicago, with 4,000 seats.
